In this session, we will host a panel discussion with experts in the M&A process. Our panelists will share their detailed knowledge of risks to consider and best practices that can help company leaders, advisors, and HR professionals navigate through this process in the future.
About Our Panel
Joseph Greeves, Experienced CFO and Business Owner. Joe was one of the three original co-founders of Cordia Partners, a leading provider of business advisory, finance and accounting, and recruiting and staffing services in the Washington DC metropolitan region. Joe joined Cordia Partners, on a full-time basis, in April 2013 to lead the Cordia Search operations and to provide CFO consulting and advisory services to Cordia’s clients primarily in the technology and professional services industries.
Prior to joining Cordia Partners, Joe was the EVP & CFO of GeoEye, Inc. an industry-leading, publicly traded satellite imaging business, which he successfully sold for over $1 billion in 2013. Prior to GeoEye he was the CFO of several publicly traded and venture-backed businesses including Managed Objects, OPNET Technologies, Fusion Systems, and ERC Environmental, and a CFO mentor and consultant for Lazard Technology Partners' venture fund. His accomplishments include being named the NVTC public company CFO of the year for 2010 where he was invited to be a judge of the awards for 2011, 2012, and 2013. He began his career as an audit supervisor with Touche Ross & Co (now Deloitte).
David Marrin, Director at G Squared Capital Partners. David advises aerospace, defense, and government services companies on strategic alternatives including mergers & acquisitions, recapitalizations, management buyouts and capital raises. Prior to joining G Squared, Mr. Marrin was a Vice President at The McLean Group, where he advised aerospace, defense and government services clients on a range of mergers & acquisitions and financing transactions. Mr. Marrin supported Phacil’s sale to By Light Professional IT Services (a portfolio company of Sagewind Capital) and Organizational Strategies’ sale to Applied Insight (a portfolio company of the Acacia Group), among others.
Kirstin Covelli- Shelton, VP Human Resources at Octo, an IBM Company. Kirstin Covelli- Shelton is the Vice President of Human Resources at Octo, where she leads their HR function. She is responsible for the Human Capital strategy and HR components of M&A for OCTO. Kirstin was responsible for HR on multiple Merger and Acquisitions for Octo over the past 3 years in addition to Octo being acquired by IBM in Dec 2022.
With a strong background supporting organizations that serve the Federal Government, Kirstin has held various Senior HR roles at ICF and SAIC prior to her current role at Octo. Over 20 years of experience in the HR discipline, she has overseen numerous M&A activities in addition to fostering a human-centric environment ensuring a best-in-class employee experience.
