Dr. Sam Han is the Director of AI/ML and Advertising Technology at The Washington Post. He is leading the recently announced AI Hub to accelerate AI initiatives across the company. He is an experienced practitioner of AI, machine learning, and data science. He has provided strategic and tactical leadership in the data science discipline and led data science teams focused on augmenting key enterprise customer and revenue growth initiatives through the application of artificial intelligence and machine learning at The Washington Post, Marriott International, Persistent Systems, and Sears. He has more than 30 published papers and presented his works at academic and industry conferences. He holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities.
Rebecca McConnell is a graduate of the University of Louisville earning her bachelor's in English Literature. She started her career in operational management at UPS, then moved to Mercer where she spent 10 years learning compensation philosophy and design. During her tenure with Mercer, she worked with the consulting group developing and designing rewards outlines, specializing in Technology companies. After Mercer she moved to corporate HR working to develop internal reward structures and job frameworks tailored to reward and retain employees. Expanding her responsibilities to leading successful teams in the design and implementation of Total Rewards structures and incentives that enable organizations to achieve their goals. Rebecca joined KMBS as a Compensation Consultant in January then moved into the Director of Compensation role in June.
Sean Luitjens has an extensive background working in strategic roles across organizations holding positions in Product Development, System Architecture, Global Sales, Corporate Strategy, Marketing, Benchmarking, and M&A. Prior to Visier, Sean held leadership positions at Korn Ferry’s Total Rewards Data Business, AIRINC, and a Principal at Mercer, where he managed the global benefits benchmarking business. His background also includes Monster as the Director of Product Strategy, and a Product Development for the interactive businesses of Fidelity Capital. Additionally, Sean also serves on the board of directors for two additional non-profit organizations. Sean has worked with clients and partners as well as spoken on a wide range of topics including but not limited to total rewards, pay equity, global mobility, recruitment, compensation, and benefits methodology and trends, as well as merger & acquisition strategies. When not working, Sean can likely be found in the great outdoors hitting the trails, climbing, or partaking in a triathlon.
The panel will be moderated by Elissa O'Brien, CCP, GRP, Vice President of Membership and Business Development, WorldatWork. She has over 20 years of leading the Human Resources function within organizations of revenue between 600M to 3B Dollars. As a former Chief HR Officer in several mid-cap organizations and former Chief Membership Officer of a global, association serving over 300K members, Ms. O’Brien brings a unique combination of expertise in Human Resources and business development experience to the table. In Ms. O’Brien’s current role with WorldatWork she leads multiple global teams responsible for Membership, Affiliates, Enterprise Sales, and Customer and Partner Success teams. In addition, she is an adjunct faculty member for Bryant University, one of the leading business schools in North America, teaching HR Analytics and Business and HR Strategy. With a reputation for using evidence-based data to make pragmatic, business decisions, Ms. O’Brien has been leading transformational HR practices that create superior organizational performance for most of her career, through synergistic human capital decisions and investments that spans the employment life cycle. Ms. O’Brien holds an MBA and a Master of Science Degree in Managerial Technology from Johnson and Wales University and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management from Salve Regina University. She has earned the following Certifications: Certified Compensational Professional (CCP) and Global Remuneration Professional (GRP) from WorldatWork and was the first to hold SHRM-SCP certification from SHRM. She has earned her Executive Coaching certification from Corporate Coach U and MBTI Certified Practitioner, Myers Briggs Type Indicator, from CPP, Inc.
